Nursing homes in Charlotte are to be found in abundance. There are many Internet directories of nursing homes in Charlotte, NC. Each will usually list the names of facilities, addresses and phone numbers to contact. With the large number of sites dedicated to helping a family find nursing homes in Charlotte, there is no need to list those here.

Nursing homes in Charlotte primarily deal with high level skilled nursing care that is needed 24 hours a day. Examples of when nursing homes in Charlotte may be needed are when recovering from a stroke or other serious medical conditions. This would be when 24 hour high skilled medical care would be needed the most. Beyond daily activities a person may need assistance to remain safe and may need the services of licensed nurses at all times. There may also be the need for speech therapy, physical or occupational therapies as well. This type of senior would need frequent and ongoing therapy services. The highest-level care to be found in nursing homes in Charlotte is skilled nursing homes. Information abounds on the Internet, but only visiting the nursing home can help the decision making process. Visiting will help determine whether a nursing home and the skill level care provided is truly what is needed. This can help determine the best care arrangement for a loved one.

Most people prefer to remain in their own home for as long as possible. Before choosing nursing homes in Charlotte, consider an alternative for the safety and care of a loved one needing basic assistance. In home care can provide a way for a senior to remain independently living in their own home, while also providing assistance needed to take care of those areas of life that do not require 24 hour a day skilled and managed care. Partners In Care provides care in the home. This allows a senior to continue to live as independently as possible without moving from familiar surroundings. This leads to a senior feeling much safer and happier in an environment they know well.

Partners In Care of Carolinas provides caregivers to visit your seniors’ home. Caregivers can assist with bathing, grooming and dressing needs. They can provide assistance for medication reminders, housekeeping and activities such as running errands as well.

This may seem like an easy question to answer. Most people would not choose isolation and loneliness versus spending time with companions. However, can lack of social support really hinder a person’s overall quality of life?

Lack of social support is related to negative impacts on health and well being, especially for older people. Having a variety of positive social supports can contribute to psychological and physical wellness of elderly individuals. Support from others can be important in reducing stress, increasing physical health and defeating psychological problems such as depression and anxiety.

When considering who provides social support for an elderly individual our first thoughts are of family members. While it is true that most support does come from family members, there are many circumstances in which family members cannot be supportive (stress due to responsibilities, illness, death, financial problems, job relocation). In the United States the fastest growing age group of individuals are those 85 years and older. Due to this fact, family supports will inevitable decrease for these older individuals. A need for community-based services is more important now then ever before….read the entire article by going to the link below

Have you or a family member been diagnosed with a terminal illness by your doctor? Is the diagnosis that this condition could or will cause death within six months? If so, then you will probably be looking for good Charlotte hospice care. This care is for those in the final stages of life. If the condition goes into remission, hospice care can be stopped. Hospice care can be restarted if the condition begins again.

End of life care can be provided in the home, but can also be provided in a nursing home, hospital or other similar setting. In-home Charlotte hospice care may not provide all the medical equipment or resources that can be found in a managed facility. A good Charlotte hospice care provider can meet with you or the family member to be cared for and provide a care plan that will meet your final stages of life care. Hospice care will usually require organized efforts on the part of doctors, nurses, aides and therapists. If hospice care begins in the home and the illness worsens, you or your family member can be admitted to a hospice facility or to the hospital. Good hospice care can help make the arrangements for the move and further care plans. Hospice facilities may have a more relaxed and home like atmosphere and freer visiting hours, as well as schedules. Your care or that of a family member can be more caring and personalized to meet those needs of those nearing life’s end. Emotionally, mentally and physically caring for a family member nearing the end of life can be very exhausting at times. Hospice care can provide a loving team of support members to assist you in caring for your family member or for special care you may need for yourself. Partners in Care of the Carolinas can be the caring team to assist in your Charlotte hospice care needs.

Hospice care can help plan and supervise the care of you or your loved one and offer the most supportive comfort needed at this time. Companionship needs are provided as well. After death, hospice workers can help with those arrangements as well if these services are arranged in advance. Good hospice care provides for bereavement care for family members as well. Personalized care that fits your needs or that of your family member can be arranged to offer you the peace of mind you need at this difficult time.

Partners In Care of the Carolinas Employee Sharon Davis

Wins Prestigious National Award:
The Senior’s Choice Fall 2011 “Caregiver of the Season”

CHARLOTTE, NC – September 30, 2011 – Charlotte resident Sharon Davis, a professional caregiver and Certified Nursing Assistant with Partners In Care of the Carolinas, has won the prestigious “Caregiver of the Season” Award, bestowed by the world’s largest membership network of senior care providers, The Senior’s Choice. The award recognizes “dedicated service to seniors” and “caregivers who perform in an exemplary manner and whose efforts help seniors live the dignified, meaningful and socially connected lives they deserve.”

Senior staff and supervisors at Partners In Care of the Carolinas (“PICC”) see Sharon as the picture of a perfect caregiver. She is dependable, attentive, observant, embodies strong leadership skills, and is always willing to go the extra mile to provide the highest caliber of service to her client. For example, she will often stop by her client’s house even when she is not scheduled, so that she can drop off prescriptions, run errands, or do some grocery shopping. As a result of such client-centric, detail-oriented care, she has served the same senior since July 2007, affording a strong sense of continuity for the senior. Sharon provides the kind of “client/caregiver partnership” that is considered ideal in the in-home senior care field. She also values her own continuing education and improvement, as evidenced by the fact that she has completed every in-service offered by PICC and regularly attends the company’s nutritional cooking classes. Sharon is always eager to learn more so that she can better serve her clients. She is a true model for other caregivers, and hence she has become a PICC team leader and peer mentor.

Sally Olin, director and co-owner of PICC, summed it up: “Sharon is the embodiment of the ideal caregiver. As she expressed in her initial interview with us, she genuinely loves caring for others, and this love is clear in the way that she treats her clients and performs her assignments. We are so proud of her!”

Steve Everhart, President and CEO of The Senior’s Choice, expressed his admiration of PICC founders Don and Sally Olin. “It is your leadership that inspires your caregivers to be the exceptional people they are,” said Everhart.
