About our family

Don and Sally Olin (pictured below) are the owners and operators of Partners In Care, a Charlotte home health services company. For the past three decades, Sally has been a registered nurse and Don has been a leader in the food brokerage industry. They have also been involved in a number of Charlotte-based non-profit organizations, including as board leaders of Opportunity Plus, an organization Don and Sally Olin dedicated to skills training and career placement for people with disabilities. Following Don’s retirement from the food industry, Don and Sally found themselves in the challenging situation of caring for their ailing elder mothers in upstate New York from over 800 miles away. Neither parent wanted to move to a nursing home, but Don and Sally experienced difficulty in finding dependable elder care. After falling in her home and remaining unfound for five hours, Don’s mother eventually transferred to a nursing home where her health steadily declined until her passing. This experience ultimately led Don and Sally to form their company, Partners In Care, providing personalized senior care for the elderly and those in need who wish to remain independent in their own homes for as long as possible. Their company is licensed by the State of North Carolina for in-home health services, and offers service in Mecklenburg, Union, Cabarrus and Rowan counties. Most recently, they have created an exciting alliance with the Charlotte chapter of the American Red Cross and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Public Library System, using Partners In Care employees to teach family caregiving classes to Charlotte-area citizens who are in similar situations to that which Don and Sally experienced with their own mothers.

Sally has recently been named one of the Top 25 Women in Business by the Charlotte Business Journal, as well as one of our region’s Top 50 Most Influential Women by The Mecklenburg Times. Don has most recently been named President of the North Carolina Chapter of the National Private Duty Association, as well as to the Board of Directors of the Parkinson’s Association of the Carolinas. Partners In Care has recently been honored with The Better Business Bureau Consumer Foundation’s 2008 Silver Torch Award, honoring service excellence to the older adult community, and the prestigious North Carolina New Organizational Vision Award (NC NOVA), awarded by the State of North Carolina and The Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence.
